Flying for VCA can be a very rewarding experience. We run a more relaxed virtual airline where you can fly Where You Want, When You Want, in What You Want. We also have a state of the art flight bid system for those members that wish to have a higher degree of realism added to the VCA experience.
Although VCA is a relaxed VA in many ways, we still operate a professionally oriented Virtual Airline. We expect our pilots to have a good understanding of aviation procedures. We don't discourage anyone from applying for membership simply based on your experience level. We are happy to assign you a mentor that can help you perfect those piloting skills and get you well on your way to a 777 rating!
Our Policies & Procedures manual will provide you with all the details about our operation. We encourage you to review these before applying. All applicants are asked to indicate their knowledge and willingness to comply with our policies and procedures during the application process.
VCA conducts all of its operations on the VATSIM network. Flight hours flown off-line are not counted toward our pilots total hours. Therefore we will only accept transfer hours from the VATSIM network and we require you to have a minimum of ten (10) verifiable flight hours logged on the VATSIM network before we will consider your application. If you'd like to check your verifiable hours prior to submitting your application, please follow this link to the VATSIM statistics database.
Once our Human Resources department has received your application, your VATSIM hours will be verified and we will credit you with 80% (eighty percent) of your total VATSIM pilot hours as your starting hour total with our VA. As an example, if you had 100 hours on the VATSIM network as a pilot; your starting total hours with VCA would be 80 hours making you a CAT II pilot.
It is important to note one more time that Virtual Continental Airlines is operated 100% on the VATSIM network. Pilots are expected to conduct their flights, in their entirety; on-line and at a simulation rate of 1x.
In order to ensure fairness and equality to all pilots in the gathering and display of statistics; VCA reserves the right to adjust a pilots reported time based on normal operations flight time as determined by standard flight sim flight planning tools.
